Michael Chapman:
The guitar and voice of Michael Chapman first became known on the Cornish Folk Circuit in 1967. Playing a blend of atmospheric and
autobiographical material he established a reputation for intensity and innovation. Signed to EMI's Harvest label he recorded a quartet of classic albums. LPs like 'Rainmaker' and 'Wrecked Again' defined the melancholic observer role Michael was to make his own, mixing intricate guitar instrumentals with a full band sound.

Since meeting Alex, Michael has recorded over 15 Albums in his studio, and was intrigued with the whole idea of recording an album of his songs with someone else taking the vocal role. Having trusted Alex with the producer hat for his last two albums Michael was happy to leave this album out of his hands. Although with his strong songwriting, and fantastic acoustic guitar playing, Michael’s hands had a lot to do with the overall sound

Verite Alexandra:
First worked with Michael when she was 16, as backing vocalist
for Michael’s ‘Navigation’ album which led to a certain poignant
moment when, in the recording of this album, she took over the
lead vocal on the Navigation track and made it her own.

Working as a vocalist in Cornwall for the last 12 years, Verite is also
a prolific songwriter and there’s rarely a quiet time in the studio
as she always has a song in some stage of production to work on.
Working on this album with Michael and Alex has proved a very
successful vehicle for her remarkable voice in the interpretation of
Michael’s equally remarkable music.

Alex Warnes:
Started his first commercial recording studio in 1990, and has been
working with Michael on numerous albums since then.

He’s played guitar in many band projects, one of them being with Verite
back in 1995, where they discovered a great working relationship and have collaborated on several projects since then.

This album has Alex concentrating on playing bass, and while there’s
a few forays off with electric guitar solos, the main thing was to anchor
all the songs with a bass style and drum track.
